Rescue Air 1 proudly operates four brand
new American Eurocopter AS350 A-Star helicopters. The
AS350 is one of the quietest aircraft in its class, making
it very community friendly with a small noise footprint. The
flexible rotor system on the AS350 makes it the ideal aircraft
for medical missions. This
rotor system provides a high degree of agility, speed, and a
very smooth flight enabling the patient and crew to enjoy a stable
and secure flight.
Each Rescue Air 1 helicopter is stocked with the
latest technology in critical care medical equipment normally
found in any emergency department or intensive care unit. In
addition, each helicopter carries all of the required pharmacological
agents that may be used when caring for critically injured or
ill patients.
Our helicopters are stocked with the latest technology in the
air medical environment, including:
- Host of medications commonly found in an emergency
room or operating room.
- Volume driven ventilator, which can control rate,
tidal volume, and positive pressure end expiratory pressure.
- Electronic end tidal carbon dioxide monitor.
- Pulse oximeter.
- Propaq monitor for vital signs.
- Zoll M series monitor/defibrillator.
- On-board oxygen.
- Portable suction units.
- Soft supplies such as trauma dressings, IV supplies,
suction supplies including oral/nasal gastric tubes and sterile
suction catheters, and various needles and syringes.
- Specialized equipment for both pediatric and
the adult patient.
Flight communications with our aircraft is achieved
using the latest technology available in secure voice transmissions.
RA1 also has the ability to communicate with all outside agencies
on their specific frequencies with the array of radios installed
in each aircraft.
