Rescue Air 1 Alert Status System

Rescue Air 1 has several Alert Statuses from which to choose.

Ground Alert

If you call for a Ground Alert, we physically sit in the helicopter and wait for you to call us to tell us to launch or to stand down. This alert should be used whenever you are called to a scene and you are still en route, but the report that you are receiving from your dispatch center indicates that the patient may need helicopter intervention. It could also be used whenever you are called to a certain location, and every time you go to that location (i.e. a bad intersection within your territory) there are serious injuries. This type of alert gives us a "heads-up" and allows us to expedite our lift off.

Air Alert

This is the same as our Ground Alert Status with the exception that you actually put us in the air, decreasing our time to your scene. Once you arrive on scene and determine that a helicopter is not warranted, then you simply call our Flight Communications Center and cancel us. We turn around and go home. No questions asked. However, if you arrive on scene and you determine that a helicopter is warranted, then we have shaved time off the patient's Golden Hour.

Go Flight

This is the same as an Air Alert Status with the exception that you know that the patient needs a helicopter.
